Curious Corner
Curious Corner is a year long science program for fourth and fifth grade students that brings physical objects, artifacts, specimens, and technology into the classroom for students to study and explore in a hands on environment.
Students are required to use their senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell. The students act as detectives, as well as researchers to determine the object's origin, composition, age, and genus. We bring in seemingly exotic science samples from around the world, including outer space and inner space, to excite their mind and sense of adventure.
The program meets the Next Generation Science Standards, teaching observation and research skills, geography, and critical thinking skills. Unlike any other program it instills an honest long lasting sense of curiosity for science, exploration, and learning.
